“You know, one loves the sunset when one is so sad.

This is a sentence I really love from the book The Little Prince. The book is originally written in French and it has many versions vary in different languages.

It has been a book cherished by not only children but adults. It was a story about love. It was a story about betrayal. It was a story about being tamed. It was a story about loneliness and it was a story about you and me. It was a story for us as grown-ups.

I’d like to share some sentences and paragraphs I really like on the book. All those sentences are written in simple words and grammar but with some inspiration that not that simple to be understood.

“你知道吗，人在伤心的时候，特别喜欢日落。”这句话出自《小王子》。虽然原著是法语，但好像已经成为了学英语的人都会读的第一本外语读物。

不管是大人还是小孩，都能从这本书里找到共鸣。这是一本关于爱情，关于背叛，关于驯服与被驯服，关于空虚寂寞的书。这是一个故事，关于你和我。这是一个故事，写给长大后的你和我。

今天想跟大家一起读一下这本书里面我很喜欢的段落和几个句子。语法也简单，单词也简单，但是那些个道理和感悟，可能并不那么简单吧。

If someone loves a flower, of which just one single blossom grows in all the millions and millions of stars, it is enough to make him happy just to look at the stars. He can say to himself, "Somewhere, my flower is there ..." But if the sheep eats the flower, in one moment all his stars will be darkened ... And you think that is not important!

倘若一个人对一朵花情有独钟，而那花在浩瀚的星河中，是独一无二的，那么，他只要仰望繁星点点，就心满意足了。他会喃喃自语：“我的花就在星河的某个角落……”可是，这花一旦被羊吃掉了，一瞬间，所有星星都将随之黯淡无光……那你也认为这不重要吗？


Flowers are so inconsistent! But I was too young to know how to love her ...

对我而言，你只是一个小男孩，和其他成千上万的小男孩没有什么不同。我不需要你。你也不需要我。对你而言，我也和其它成千上万的狐狸并没有差别。但是，假如你驯服了我，我们就彼此需要了。对我而言，你就是举世无双的;对你而言，我也是独一无二的……

I read this book when I was in Junior High. I was a girl knowing nothing about being tamed and nothing about loneliness. It seemed like I was always a happy one. I did not care about the sunset. I did not understand what betrayal meant.

读这本书的时候是初中。那时候我不懂什么叫孤独，不懂什么叫驯服。不关心日出日落，好像每天都很快乐。“背叛”两个字，我不懂得它的意思，更不知道跟我的生活有什么关系。

Why is being unique so important? What is responsibility? Does love mean to be tamed or to posses? And why love makes everyone sad? I had no idea of that until one day, I was one of the roses that wanted to be unique. Until one day, I was one of the foxes that let him go.

成为“独一无二“那么重要吗？ ”责任“又是个什么鬼？爱情就是被驯服和去占有吗？为什么爱情会让每个人都受罪？ 我一直都不明白，直到有一天，我也成为了想要变得独一无二的玫瑰。直到有一天，我也像那只狐狸一样，让他走，因为爱。
