Last time, we talked about how to use "pretty". Now go back and have a revision if you have forgot it. Today, let's talk about "can" and "can't". You may have know these two words long time ago, but not all of us know what they mean when read in different intonation. So let's start now.
上次，我们谈了pretty的用法。现在，如果你忘记了，就请回到上一贴回顾一下。今天我们来学习一下"can"和"can't"的用法。你可能早就知道这两个单词了，但不是我们中所有人能理解，不同语调下，他们的意思。

A. I can HEAR it.

You have probably noticed the differences in their intonations. So, what are the message that they convey to us?
你可能已注意到他们语调上的差别。那么，它们向我们传达什么信息呢？

Sentence A is just a normal positve stentence that people often use. But be aware that, here, hear is stressed and can is pronounced as kən.
句子A是一个人们常用的普通肯定句。但注意此处 应重读hear，can应读作kən。

Sentence B is an extra negative sentence. When you speak Sentence B, you want to highlight the fact that you are ABLE to hear it, so can is stressed. But be aware that, here, pronounced as kæn.
句子B是个加强否定句。当你说句子B时，你想要强调你“能够”听到，所以重读can。但注意此处can读作kæn。

Sentence C is a normal negative sentence where both can't and hear are stressed. Can't is pronounced as kænt.
句子C是一个普通的否定句，这里can't和hear都要重读。Can't要读作kænt。

Sentence D is an extra negative sentence. When you speak Sentence D, you want to highlight the fact that you are UNABLE to hear it.
句子D是个加强否定句。当你说句子D时，你想要强调你“不能够”听到，所以重读can't。但注意此处can't读作kænt。
